2019 Christmas Program: The Drummer Boy
For many years, it has been a tradition for the students to perform a Christmas program before going on winter break. Our programs involve singing, acting, dancing, and instrumental playing. Under the direction of Mr. Garcia, the students rehearse for many hours starting in September, to ensure a fun and entertaining show for everyone to watch.
NOTE TO PARENTS:
- Please download the schedule for your convenience. If your child is NOT in choir and is NOT listed on the schedule, they are not needed for rehearsals. Those already in choir have separate songs to learn together.
- If your child is enrolled in both basketball AND choir, they are to attend every rehearsal until 3:45 PM, after which they will be released to basketball training.
- If there are any questions and/or concerns, please contact Mr. G at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students from grades 4 to 8 are allowed to audition for the Christmas program. A casting notice is posted outside the music room and show to the students well before auditions are to take place. Once the students have voluntarily selected the role for which they would like to audition, they study very hard to memorize their lines, as is customary in the world of acting.
A table-read is a stage when all actors with speaking parts in a production gather around a table and conduct a reading of a script. Immediately following the casting announcement, we go through the script as a cast all-the-while enjoying some delicious food and building camaraderie with one another.
